The last time we visited Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout was back in September. At that time, the developer behind the game, Mediatonic, dealt with rampant cheating in the game. The company’s solution was to add the anti-cheat system used by Epic Games’ smash hit Fortnite.
Today, we’re learning that the link between Fortnite and Fall Guys is about to get a lot stronger. Epic Games is acquiring the Tonic Games Group, which includes Mediatonic and Fortitude Games. But before you decry the fact that this is yet another case of a big fish gobbling up a promising small fish, Epic says that fans of the game should not be alarmed.

Fortnite’s heading towards some sort of season-ending event just like we’ve seen in the seasons prior, and thanks to some information datamined from the game’s files after the latest update, we’ve got some more details on what might happen regarding the Zero Point. It appears as though the ominous orb that’s been looming over the map throughout Season 5 will continue to destabilize as the end of the season comes closer. Through one of the more interesting leaks, it was suggested that the Zero Point will actually have an affect on in-game voice chat.

Epic Games has released the latest patch for the battle royale game Fortnite–update 15.50–and while it didn’t accompany that with proper patch notes, we do know about some of the key additions and fixes. The update removes the Hand Cannon but replaces it with another weapon: the Rapid-Fire SMG. There are also a variety of bug fixes in the new patch, as well as various undocumented additions that are not yet live in the game but appear to be setting the stage for the conclusion of Season 5 and the start of Season 6.
